The List: 15 Things I Find Impossibly Chic, March
Fur coats over overalls, oyster farmer chic, bibs at Blackberry and pared-back skincare.

Women in menswear. From Bella Hadid in a Saint Laurent suit to co-opting Bode gym shorts, real ones know to never skip the men’s department. Case in point: this suede tote bag from COS.
The Fisherman aesthetic. Literally everything is a trend now, which is silly and its own conversation. But what is it about bibs/waders?!? Getting to wear them is one of the best parts of fly fishing — just look at Blackberry Farm’s tagged photos and you’ll see what I mean: girls chomping at the bit to get their rubberized Kodak moment on. Who else remembers this La Ligne shoot at Blackberry with Karen Elson? Burned in my brain. I’m not going to say bibs were the entire reason I went to work on an oyster farm in 2019, but they weren’t not a reason.
I think about this La Ligne campaign image of Karen Elson at Blackberry Farm a lot. In a similar vein, field jackets have my heart and endure another spring. They’re so easy to style and comfortable, and you can get them at every price point: from this under $120 number all the way up to Prada.
A simple, slim black thong sandal for summer. You can go high with something leather like Emme Parsons’ Meta sandals or stick with the classic, a $30 pair of Havaianas. We’re going to see these styled with everything this spring/summer, but I like them best when they look a little wrong — like with a dressy trouser or on a rainy day in NYC styled with The Row’s Pierrick jacket à la LSD.
The greatest hair towel of all-time, now in black to hide your tanning smudges.
A perfectly worn in pair of light blue 501s — but I also love the inky dark wash. (Levis is doing Friends & Family btw: 30% Off Sitewide).
Chic friends collaborating and conspiring.
and Olivia at Chava cooked up a sexy silk slip set and just made her first big move post-Madewell; a branded collab with World of Crow (including cutie pie kids stuff).Speaking of collabs, did you see that Frank & Eileen cooked up a button-down with the eternally elegant Julianne Moore? I missed the party last night due to a very VIP puppy play date, so I haven’t seen it in person yet, but the shirt looks crispy and perfect.
Hair pins! Hair pins of all kinds. The Deborah Pagani French pin, David Mallett’s safety pin style, or something sweet like this silver flower. It’s the quickest way to make a bun day look more intentional.

A matching set, which has replaced most summer dresses for me. Sold Out has a punchy red cotton number, The Row is submitting stripes, Toteme offers their evergreen pajama set, and Attersee just dropped a gorgeous slub linen duo… but my current favorite is this off-shoulder number by CO and it’s skirt companion, which I will be wearing to my bridal shower.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Jacket. (Sorry, Harper’s Bazaar, but I called it that first.) According to my analytics, Aligne’s Daphne blazer is a blockbuster with y’all. And I get that, it looks good on just about everyone. (If you’re in NYC, go try one on IRL at their new shop on Greene.)
These ugly-chic Phoebe Philo sandals. They are heinous. I absolutely love them.

A pared-back skincare routine. As of late, I’ve been using only The Outset Micellar Wash (no makeup days) and Sofie Pavitt Clean Clean Cleanser (makeup days), YSE Beauty’s Your Favorite Ex Pads (shout out for making the thing that finally cleared up the dermatitis around my mouth!), Eighth Day’s new retinol moisturizer (obsessed) rotated in with my beloved U Beauty Barrie Bioactive Treatment, Vintner’s Daugher serum and Shisedo sunscreen (I am testing a bunch of sunscreens for a letter later this summer though). I am tinkering with adding a hypochlorous acid back in. When I need a little something extra, this blue clay mask, Masque Vivante, or the viral Biodance mask. And I do one of these eye masks every morning. Ok, maybe not so pared-back. (And damn if this stuff isn’t good for dry-lipped mouth breathers.)
These cutie pie little Chanel purse sprays, one of the only bag charms I like.
Not a new discovery, but worth reiterating how much I love Róhe. I mean, this jacket? Come on. Already treated myself to this polo. I also love the little capri leggings (a style I finally feel ready for).
