The List: Sporty Girls, Prada Dupes, and the Designers I'm Watching
Plus, Tibi's runway playlist.
Good morning and happy Friday, friends. Just a few quick things on my radar as we merrily roll into the weekend.
I rarely write about fast fashion here because the sustainability and labor practices give me nightmares, but I recognize the usefulness of democratized pricing. Very few among us are walking around in The Row every day, duh. The dupes are dupe-ing HARD over at Mango. This jacket is super reminiscent of a Loewe comp, this one is wildly Prada. Oh, and hello miu miu, same for this one.
Attersee released new pieces for fall, including the uber-popular sculpted mini dress in a new black colorway. I also love this killer herringbone wrap and these creamy velvet mary janes.
Ruohan popped on my radar when they invited me to their show in Paris at the end of the month. I can’t go but I’m so glad for the outreach — probably the least effusive line on my radar right now in the best possible way.
After her runway last week, Tory Burch cited this as her new favorite beauty treatment. Sign me up. (More reporting on treatments and tweakments next week).
- eagle-eyed the minimal footwear at Kallmeyer as none other than Old Navy flip flops. I would just like to say, I called this.
- nailed it in her newsletter about the return of American Sportswear. It’s giving me Liz Claiborne, and I mean that fondly. Which reminds me, I have an appointment to see the new High Sport collection at The Bowery today! I’ll share some goodies on IG Stories.
Staud x Wrangler, you have my attention.
I would very much like to have this Maria McManus skirt.
You can stream our September playlist now. I dropped the September Playlist on Stories for IG followers last week. I was in a really nostalgic mood when I made this for the stuff I was listening to ten years ago. I think the onset of fall (or at least the tease) had me in the mood for spooky, haunting things. It’s a good playlist.
I emailed Tibi’s reps and asked for their runway playlist, too — I guess a lot of people had the same thought because Amy Smilovic posted it in her Stories today. I think it struck me because usually, the music played at fashion shows, while fitting, is very high-concept (many dulcet and electro-diatonic tones), but not the kind of thing I think of as listenable say, walking down the street. Tibi’s playlist is that. No mistake, as it turns out, as the brand noted their intention was for it to feel like a playlist of your favorite songs.
Some new arrivals that stand out: these AGolde jeans, this kooky Staud bag, this Ganni dress, these Ferragamo-reminiscent red Bass Weejun loafers and red Toteme number, these leopard (giraffe) Manolo flats and these white flats by The Row.

The Stud Wrangler collection looks promising! I can't decide.
