I’m deep in prep for our anniversary event, fashion week, and other September events. But a few noteworthy things have danced across my desk that I want to share with you before I swan dive back into prep mode. I haven’t even changed out of my pajamas (they’re Lake) yet; it’s a goblin mode day. Onward!

What I picked up from the TASCHEN sale: Walton Ford // Peter Beard // Gio Ponti // Helmut Newton // Annie Leibovitz

1. It is well-documented that I am a book junkie, and TASCHEN is one of my favorite places to get a fix. They do a monster sale (like 75% off!) every couple of years to clear their shelves. It kicks off today! If you, too, love a sexy, hefty, glossy tome, now’s your moment.

2. I went into Sofie Pavitt’s studio this week for a facial, and it flew by SO quickly because we were chitchatting like crazy the whole time. She sent me home with her Benzoyl Peroxide Mask, which she instructed me to do just along my chin and jawline in a very thin layer for only ten minutes. She was exactly correct; it zapped all that texture in one use. It's such a distinct difference that I’m making it a weekly staple. Her product line is seriously so impressive and efficacious; if you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend starting with her cleanser and Nice Ice and going from there. And if you have acne-prone skin, her Mandelic Acid Serum is a cult hit for a reason.

did his big one with this red waxed cotton barn jacket, dropping at Alex Mill during the first week of September. I am probably not supposed to share this quite yet (sorry, AM team, forgive me?), but it’s just so freakin’ GOOD that I thought I’d give you all something to look forward to.

4. I went to the U.S. Open with Moet & Chandon yesterday—make no mistake, I WILL hoe for a brand that sends me to the Open in a suite—and I saw a lot of good looks around Arthur Ashe. There’s been a noticeable uptick in fashion consciousness from last year’s crowd. I need to return for some cultural excavation to report on the full breadth. Still, I saw many fresh blowouts, designer white shirt dresses, nice ball caps, Oliver Peoples sunglasses, and Onitsuka Tigers. The men were on their watch games, too. It was sweltering hot; I’m glad I drenched my face in setting spray prior.
