Ed. note: Today’s letter is free for everybody in partnership with Sorel x Proenza Schouler.
A recurring conversation I regularly see in our Chat is the question of cute rainwear — admittedly kind of a challenging category. If you had eyes on Proenza Schouler’s runway, you saw the exceptionally cool boots from Sorel models were sporting. Now, the collab is (finally!) available to make your own. In a city like New York or Paris where you’re constantly subjected to the elements, there is nothing more valuable than a great all-weather shoe. Wear with wool socks and never fear the sleet again, babe.
Also, a fit tip: I got a couple of pairs from the collaboration for myself. Take your true size in the boot and a half-size down in the clog; there will still be plenty of room for a thick sock.
Continuing another chat thread here, I was scrolling Fashionphile this morning and was reminded how fantastic their selection is. With the holidays in mind, I like that you can sort their selection by what’s “Giftable.” For example, these Hermes Chypre sandals and this chic Loro Piana pouch.
Also a great gift that you may want to order now to allow time for personalization: Heaven Mayhem’s new laptop cases — I’m particularly into the oxblood variant.
I’ve talked about it before, but it’s worth reiterating how much I love Megababe, particularly their Apres Shave roll-on. In the summer, it was indispensable for baring my legs, but I find it’s equally essential in my winter routine when my skin gets dry and needs frequent exfoliation. It pairs nicely with their Blade Bar — which they handily sell in a (giftable) set.
I went to Charleston last weekend with my friend
and we had a great time. I got to catch up with friends like and Danielle and show Joyce my homeland — very fun to see where you’re from through someone else’s new eyes. Joyce and I both dork out over great little shops, and we came across event planner Gregory Blake Sam’s shop Wentworth, which I’m not being overly effusive when I say is retail heaven. I went a little nuts in there buying marbled plates and table Charvet linens. We also picked up some cute velvet Venetian slippers for plodding around the house at Clorinda Antinori, a charming shoe shop on King Street founded by the Antinori wine family. I’m going to wear mine with Olivia von Halle pajamas.
Parting thought! I thought this was a stunning image from jewelry designer Jasmin Sparrow — I love the combination of her Fiore and Petalo earrings here, though I wish she would sell the Petalo as a cuff.
Loved seeing you - wasn't long enough. Next time we'll both be healthy. xo
Boy was this post FOR ME! 🙌🏼 (we had an “atmospheric river in Vancouver last week, do not recommend.)
