I grew up in the American South, where the “no white before Easter or after Labor Day” rule still exists. While I long ago freed myself from the notion, I still feel a little celebratory every time Easter rolls around in April, as though now I have some invisible permission to don my favorite shade.

Hello from the airplane, by the way (don’t worry, it’s not Boeing). I’m spending the coming weekend in Florida, tucked into all the people and places that feel like home. A healthy break in Palm Beach and Winter Park means a light suitcase of warm-weather separates, a trusty shirt dress, and my favorite white Prada flats.

Spring’s been teasing us in New York. It’s a vibe that rolls in lazily, blissfully unaware that we are desperate for her kiss. But it’s nearly summer in Florida, which makes me feel like I’m jumping timelines. I’m ready to bake in a hot car and belly laugh with my best friend.

This month’s mood board reflects that vibe: rebirth, the promise of a fresh start, a bulb finally pushing through the soil. I found myself lost in the archives of Vogue Runway, looking at old Spring presentations from Céline and The Row. Chill whites, both crispy and diaphanous, nudge me to dust off the straw bags and fill the house with quince branches. I want linen sheets on the bed, overstuffed furniture to flop on, and easy, optimistic tunes wafting over the air.

This brings me to our April playlist. This is for daytime—music to throw open your windows to on a perfect 60-degree day. Play it right up until it’s time to pour a Lillet Spritz. Enjoy.
