Hi! I promised some New York Fashion Week thoughts. As a whole, I walked away feeling uninspired. There were some high points — a sock boot with a racing stripe at Tibi, a diaphanous white dress at Khaite, a litany of green beanies (jaunty hats in general, really), and poplins so crisp you could bite into them at FFORME. And leather! So. Much. Leather. But I didn’t leave doe-eyed and brimming with ideas. For example, are we actually buying Tory Burch? I see a lot of chatter about the “Toryssaince,” but I don’t see a lot of women I know actually wearing the brand. Maybe I’m wrong/blind?
I loved the elegant presentations at Proenza Schouler, Maria McManus, Kallmeyer, and Veronica de Piante. These were wearable, elevated collections that felt close to their customer. The most exciting newcomers go to Zane Lii at LII for his stately, sculptural debut and Colleen Allen — a show I missed, but judging from photos, she is very dialed into everything that makes my heart go pitter-pat.

I like brands that appear to be listening to their women and not just putting on a performance. The runways I favor tend to iterate on seasons past with collectors in mind rather than command their customers to wipe the slate clean and begin anew constantly. I think
summed up this sentiment beautifully.Anyway, here’s what is exciting me right now, on the cusp of Spring.
This Toteme barn jacket in a coffee-and-cream combo sings to my soul. I’d wear it over spring dresses or with these bike shorts from The Row (yes, all things legging-adjacent are again happening), and the reader-favorite Dries sandals. I guess I’m dipping heavily into the half-and-half because this Jacquemus clutch is beckoning, too.
If you’re into the barn jacket thing, you have a lot of other choices this season. Prada is leading the pack, but there’s always Zara if you’re not keen to be spendy. And you can always go for the tried-and-true original Barbour.
Alex Mill launched denim. When they asked me to be a part of this campaign, I dreaded it a little because jeans can be traumatizing to try on. Like what are the odds the one pair I blindly pick will work? And then what, I’m going to pretend I like them for a buck? No ma’am Pam. It turns out I had nothing to worry about — they’re genuinely the best-fitting pair of jeans I’ve tried on in years. I got the Amber style, which is a mid-rise with a slim leg and the teeniest bit of give. I didn’t know being comfortable in hard pants was possible, but here we are.
This “Shit List” notepad from Dear Annabelle, which I got in a PR package and promptly gave a place of honor on my desk next to my Astier pencils. I guess you’re either on The Love List or The Shit List, eh?? (This office supply dork is still present and accounted for.)
This face mask that
found on Amazon. As I texted her, it’s an all-time Hall-of-Famer. Another treasure of the Amazon, this bra that shared. Well, hello, boobs! Some of Khaite’s spring runway items are finding their way online. Standouts like this leather jacket and this tasseled bag are available for pre-order on Moda.
Apparently, this is the rig Vogue’s Social Media editor uses. Schmancy.
The kicky little sneakers on The Row’s runway make me long for the 90s white tennies of yore. Maybe we should all just buy some Keds!
Remember that Dorsey ear cuff I spied on the brand founder
a few weeks ago in LA? It’s available for pre-order now!I’m in The Cut this month talking about those High Sport pants.
I dyed my hair blonde. Should we talk about that?
I have a pair of white keds and also converse jack Purcell... very lauren hutton vibes to me and I'm into it;)
I feel like the Onitsuka Tigers and The Row were a great entry way back into the Keds.
