I wonder if my open rates will plummet with this subject line. Will it trigger all kinds of email filters? I’m willing to roll the dice for Sisquo.
But before we dive in, congrats are in order for our beloved Men’s Editor,
. He and his wife Alex welcomed a beautiful baby girl earlier this month! Sending lots of love and good vibes their way.A few quick hits to head off your week, starting with S/S ‘25’s most prevalent shoe: the thong sandal. Let’s round ‘em up — silly style.
Graphic design is my passion: Emme Parsons // Havainnas // The Row // The Row // TKEES // Veronica Beard // Saint Laurent // Auralee
No really, I am an accomplished graphic designer: Old Navy // Tony Bianco (a direct rip of the sold-out Phoebe Philos, woof) // Toteme // STAUD // St. Agni // Alaia // Mango
Someone in our chat (or maybe it was my DMs?) was looking for something similar to The Row’s Bare sandal. I lost the message, I’m sorry! But I do remember you saying your daughter wanted them for a fraternity formal and you weren’t paying Row prices for shoes she was 100% going to trash with bar tar, and I feel that. I found these for under $60. You could also get her this bar-safe “Andiamo”. And a nice leather blazer for yourself, for being such a nice Mom.
Another DM was from a woman who missed The Hotel Il Pellicano x Birkenstock collab a few years ago and still thinks about the Raffia sandals she didn’t get. I remember them vividly, and they went FAST. J.Crew has something very similar right now that might scratch your itch!
Speaking of J.Crew, I’ve also heard great things about the fit/comfort of their Harbor Shorts given the forgiving (and easily concealed with a belt) elastic back. The white ones are properly lined! Though I’m kinda feeling a return to khaki? They’d look great this spring with a slinky cotton sweater. They also have a 90’s-ish slip skirt that looks pretty good.
Remember this letter about The Row’s homespun references? The 90’s are clearly at the very top of my mind today: I still like an old-school Keds sneaker for this. It has to be the canvas ones in the “Champion” style. The unlaced pull-on ones work, too. I feel like these, no socks, and the above khaki shorts are a solid summer revival look for plodding around The Hamptons.
While we’re talking about the classics, Levis’ 501s look great with flip flops. I like denim with a little stretch because it prevents those dreaded knee dents, but if you prefer the rigidity of pure denim, they do age beautifully.

It’s going to be another High Sport summer for me. My favorite shorts from last year are back, and the fit is so good I’m debating another color way. Khaki? Stripes? The red stripe with Hermes red nail enamel on the toes? Or a red Westman Atelier lip? Paired with a pre-summer faux glow? Stop it. Too good.
If anyone would like to give me this, my bridal shower is July 12. Just saying. I’ll invite you over for a glass of wine at our Sag Harbor house in return — it’ll be Juliet Orange or Rosé. I plan to stock up for house guests.
I neeeeeeed the emme parsons knot pool slide in black to come back in stock in my size 🖤
