What is The Love List?
The Love List is a women’s interest newsletter about shopping and the culture that drives it. If you’d like it delivered to your inbox, you can subscribe here:
Who is Jess Graves?
I am an Atlanta-based journalist and essayist with a publishing background in women’s interest, regional culture, and lifestyle. My work has appeared in Vogue, Town & Country, Garden & Gun, Eater, Complex, AFAR, Domino, Food & Wine, Atlanta Magazine, and Southern Living, who named me one of the “75 Most Stylish Southerners”.
In addition to my work as a writer, I run a creative agency, Graves Creative, where we offer brand consulting and identity work, social media and advertising production, website design and development, and overall creative direction/marketing management.
Our clients are visionary real estate, retail, and hospitality brands that focus on best-in-class placemaking. My portfolio of projects encompasses many of Atlanta’s most significant mixed-use and luxury developments, including Shops Around Lenox, Ponce City Market, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, and the forthcoming Krog District, among many others.
Wait, wasn’t The Love List a thing before now?
I founded the original Love List in 2007 as a simple blog about the things I love, that eventually expanded into a celebrated and long-running lifestyle website of the same name. It was written about in Vogue, Town & Country, and Food and Wine, among others, and spun off into a subsequent column in Atlanta Magazine before I shuttered it in 2018.
This newsletter is both a nod to and continuation of the original Love List — pared back to the format it began in nearly 15 years ago.
The free newsletter hits twice a week. But we are supported by our readers! Please consider a paid subscription to get full access to the newsletter and website.
So… what’s different?
This is a different kind of “Love” — like its author, it’s settled in, older, gentler, and has less to prove. As a team of three, we send out newsletters twice a week, full of our favorite stuff, cultural observations, trend reporting, and the occasional special guest.
And what’s the same?
For free subscribers: trend reporting, style coverage, shopping picks, gift guides, playlists, and loads of nostalgia.
For paid subscribers: all of the above, plus personalized recommendations — and a very active private Slack channel, which any of our members will tell you is the real reason to join.
