THE LIST: 40 Things That Have Absolutely Delighted Me This Summer
Plus: our Hamptons shopping map and a perfect summer playlist
Today’s letter is in partnership with our forever friends at Helix, who make the mattress I sleep on every night — and thus, my days infinitely better. If you’d like to work with The Love List, please email abby@bigheart.media.
Hi! Let’s do some Sunday Shoppies today. We’re at peak summer, when all the old is marked down, pre-fall is rolling out (despite the mere idea of a sweater feeling oppressive), and we all (hopefully) are primarily focused on our tans, bare legs, air-dried hair, and happy skin. Catch me pulling up to some heirloom tomatoes to take home and dress with a heavy drizz of lemon olive oil, baby.
I’ve been living between The Hamptons and the city this summer, so I’ve been (literally) road-testing things in real time. I’ve dispensed plenty of product among my team, too, so we can make sure everything is getting its due attention. Sometimes, a winner stands out right away, and other times it’s the more subtle realization that you’re reaching for the same thing over and over. And isn’t it so often true that the things we think we’ll use a ton may end up collecting dust?
We’ve also been getting a steady stream of questions about our favorite spots out East, so my team put together these handy dandy guides for you over on our Instagram: one for shopping, and one for dining.
And I made you a very in-depth Hamptons shopping map!
Save them for the next time you make the trip.
As a bonus, here’s an absolutely perfect playlist for the season, Dj’ed by my friend Abby (a main character in my life, IYKYK) and fine-tuned perfectly for that wind-in-your-hair drive from Amagansett to Montauk.
Summer ain’t over yet! Here’s the best stuff, the hardiest stuff, the stuff sustaining us after sea, salt, swim, sweat, sun, washing machine, repeat. Let’s get into it.
Suprise! The brand putting clothes on my back with the most mileage this summer is not, in fact, my stand-by beloveds (The Row, Phoebe Philo) but, in fact, Rohè! I find myself reaching for their pieces again as soon as they come back from the cleaners. Their sculptural white cotton dress and poplin top in particular are wonderful because I can pull them on over my head, no bra needed (built-in support!!), and they barely graze my body on the hottest days. I also often reach for their lineny/lightweight oversized check shirt to tie around my waist or throw on over a t-shirt with shorts — infinite styling options for that “third piece” when an outfit needs a little something.
I dress infinitely sillier when I’m by the water than my typical serious-city-person uniform, which has included Heavenly Jellies’ uber-whimsical flats. They make that little poolside shift look more like an outfit than a nightgown, y’know?
Jamie Haller’s paint-splattered jeans are, like all things she makes, incredibly soft and comfortable, but somehow also do lovely things for my tush — especially paired with my favorite Dries heels and a big, roomy button-down or cotton tunic (unbuttoned dangerously low — hi cute bra) for dinner out.
Despite the annals of my personal life spilling out onto the proverbial sidewalk as of late, I’ve nevertheless been feeling pretty good. I attribute that to sunshine, water proximity, and actually sticking to my supplement routine. The backbone is Mitopure (THELOVELIST10), which I think I’ve mentioned before; my girlfriend from Korea, who has outrageous skin and does allllll the beauty tourism you watch on TikTok, swears by it. It’s a longevity supplement, but I've also looked and felt better since sticking with it. And yes, I still use Nutrafol, NEEDED’s women’s multi, and Ritual Hyacera and Synbiotic (JESS-G25).

After abandoning it for years, I’ve been back into Zara this summer. It’s fun to pluck a low-stakes piece here and there to plug into your outfit — especially something trendy like an oversized pair of earrings in an unusual shade, a funky basket bag, an arty resin necklace, or graphic cotton sweats. How great is this entire vibe?? Or these bermudas? Or (OMG) this pink bomber! A sub-$400 leather jacket! A stupid-easy Henley!
Speaking of graphic, how great is this t-shirt? I’m styling her with a Staud mini skirt because I’ve rediscovered my legs, apparently.
And legs, indeed! My pins are OUT. All I want to wear are short hemlines and high heels — tarty! Still Here have been my staples, followed hotly by any track shorts or pareo you’ll give me. (Though I do sometimes supplement with a longer pair when they’re this luxe or this crispy.) For day, I’ll style them with my favorite Phoebe Philo orthopedic grandma sandals and Whitney Biennial ball cap. For evening, with a pair of Dries heels (sold out sadly) originally intended for my wedding but now having a whole new life dancing with my friends in Montauk. I want a second similar pair. They make your legs look a million miles long.
When I’m not feeling quite as daring with the heel height, this Jude pair has been serving me really well — same dangerously low cut on the foot that makes your legs look ooh la la.
And for a comfy little nothing of a flat? GEWLS!
This whipped, sexy cardigan, fav bra, loose comfy pants, little European house shoes (also): my around-the-house uniform. Also been bopping around in new-to-me brand Piyama. And I’ll never abandon my gorgeous OVH.
I’ve been on a LWD bender. The little white dress knows no boundaries this time of year — it’s appropriate just about anywhere and serves as the world’s easiest backdrop for your favorite accessories. Lucy Williams made a great one with WNU that I’ve been wearing a ton over my fav teeny swimsuit. I also have this white Dosa number on infinite repeat with big turquoise jewelry. And my assistant has fully taken custody of this Caio Lucia (I want that one back, Iz!) and this Merlette number.
When the LWD won’t do? WD. That would be white denim, duh.
Just a little dust of this kills that sweaty face. This incredible little innovation from BeautyBlender is also aces.

All those big bottles decanted in my new jelly capsules via Capsule and the divine Larissa Mills.

Sunnies? Duh! Linda Farrow x Jacquemus. Sardine. Thistles.
Everything crammed into a tote? You betcha! Alex Mill! Rue de Verneuil! Daniela Gregis! Phoebe Philo! Underwater Weaving!
Swimsuits drip drying in the outdoor shower always? YEAH! This one from Lido! This one, which does wonders for your boobs, by Divino Seas! Left on Friday!
White on white on white. Like this cotton set from Suzie Kondi. This linen jacket (which I wear as a top) from TWP. Minnow beach pants. Soft cotton pull-ons for fellow tall girls from Heiress.
The beach cools at night so I’ve been making heavy use of my Yaser Shaw shawls and lightweight cashmere (JESS10) from my buddies at Lingua Franca.
Suncare could carry its own entire newsletter IMO, but for now, the chart toppers: Ultra Violette Sequin Supreme SPF for the body if I’m lying about, but Dune’s sporto spray (THELOVELIST for 15% off) if I’m playing volleyball/frisbee/swimming. Future Screen for the Face, Good Weather Skin (THELOVELIST15) for a bronzey slick, MSK Labs The Quickie (THELOVELIST15) for idiot-proof tanned legs, Uni body serum (THELOVELIST for 15% off) to keep ‘em moisturized, Lilis to keep ‘em exfoliated. Loving Tan for an overnight sweep of sun to the face, Westman Atelier bronzer to punch it up.
Oh, and your bikini line will thank you if you use this stuff (THELOVELIST15) after shaving. It’s an OG for a reason, and I swear by it, have for years.
Documenting it all with this cheerful pink Camp Snap camera. (THELOVELIST for 7% off).

A swipe of Violette’s creamy dreamy blush. And a smooch of that Givenchy new new.
This stuff from Moon Juice, stirred into my water.
I’ve been back into sketching and journaling, and this beautiful leather number from Memoire has been my favorite to carry around for thought-jotting.
My skin has been 99% clear, which I attribute to Barefaced’s Clean Slate Spritz and Sofie Pavitt’s Mandelic Acid serum (JESS10).
Atop those? I have been plundering through Retrouve’s Dynamic Nourishing Face Cream and MIMETIQUE.
Some guy at Duryea’s called me grandma and then told me to come sit on his lap because I was wearing these. Men are forever the worst, and if my cute glasses chain deterred him even somewhat, I consider that a win.
I forgot how useful a white cardigan can be.
And a green bag c/o Savette that matches nothing but goes with everything.
Air-drying my hair is the greatest indulgence of the season, and Crown Affair’s cream (THELOVELIST) keeps the mane in check while Reverie’s shampoo paired with Filament (THELOVELIST15) has been keeping things clean n’ healthy. For day two, Chris McMillan’s texture spray, which I love in the mini size.
My glassware kink shows no signs of dying down anytime soon. Right now I’m heavy on the Murano. And good God, would you get a load of these?
I have yet to pull trig, but I cannot stop thinking about these High Sport numbers. Who am I?
The La Garconne in Amagansett keeps having Jacques Marie Mage trunk shows, help!
And last but not least, the thing getting me through my toughest summer most of all: my beloved Helix Sunset Elite mattress (THELOVELIST for 21% off), which I will never shut up about. It’s designed for side sleepers like me, and I just added a set of plush king pillows and a cooling sleeper pillow to my bed for extra comfort. Finished with my Sleep Crown and snuggles from my muppets, my summer sleep is peaceful — despite what the waking hours may hold.
